    This is extremely potent, unsweetened chocolate. Great for those who love the taste of chocolate but want to avoid the suger and calories. Good for your teeth and gums. Also fun to give "chocolate" to your kids. They'll get really excited and chomp into a piece, and then there expression turns from excitement, to surprise, to dismay.

    The chocolate is great! The mailing envelope, however, was the worst I've ever seen. It was an "ecological looking" brown paper envelope. I thought, oh how nice, not your usual bubble-wrap type envelope. But when I tore open the envelope, a puff of white powdery substance fluff flew up into my face. The white powder turned out to be very tiny particles of spray foam that is sprayed between the two layers of paper making up the envelope, apparently to give squishy protection to the contents. I'm sure that I breathed a number of the polystyrene particles, which is probably not a great thing for one's lungs! Then of course I had clean up all the fluff that had spilled on my kitchen counter. By far the worst packing I've ever seen! If you get one of these paper envelopes from Dagoba, be sure to open it outdoors, and try not to breathe in the particles! Dagoba if you read this, PLEASE find a different envelope to use!!!

    This is my favorite chocolate I use to make my own. I melt about 4 Tbs of coconut oil gently. Then I have grated the chocolate in a turning grater and stir in 2 TBS chopped or grated cocoa butter well until melted. (This is the most difficult to melt!) Heat a little if necessary. Then stir in 5 T of grated chocolate or chopped. (rounded a bit), 5 TBS real maple syrup or honey, 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 tsp mint extract (or 2 tsp vanilla). Stir and stir together and let cool or refrigerate. I have an immersion blender I use to quicken the mixing process. Many people never go back to eating chocolate bars again. You can stir in anything you want...nuts, fruits, bacon, ginger and so on. I like it plain, however, you can make it anyway you want! If you like darker flavor, leave out the cocoa butter and add more chocolate.

    We all have different tastes. I have tried several organic varieties and use only organic ingredients. This is also fair trade and I love the flavor.

    no matter how much I like chocolate, its no good if the taste is moldy. Kinda stuck because Amazon says this product is not eligible for a return. What to do

    I'm delighted to find this organic 100% chocolate bar at Amazon since my local natural food store does not carry it & for some reason cannot special order for me. I have been eating 100% chocolate for several years now. Although this bar is a little thick for eating out-of-hand, overall it's quite nice & affordable as an every-day chocolate. Not the baking chocolate I remember from my childhood! Smooth, creamy, with a lovely mouth feel & finish. Would recommend to anyone looking to get their chocolate fix without the hazard of sugar. If you are weaning yourself from chocolate candy, I can recommend eating this half-and-half with a nice 75 or 80% bar and gradually increasing the 100% as your tastebuds adjust. It's worth the effort!

    Dagoba cacao and chocolate is the BEST! It has the MAGIC of cacao still intact and yet it is not grainy or weird. Since I make my own sugar free chocolates I need unsweetened chocolate and I have tried them ALL. This is my favorite by far (although I can't always get it so I do have a second favorite now). Why? 1) because it melts beautifully and as it cools, it stays in a slightly thickened state for longer, 2) it doesn't stick to the mold so it makes the best chocolate coating for my fillings, 3) the flavor is BEYOND chocolate... the complexity of unprocessed cacao is present. When health experts say that "chocolate is a super food" THIS is what they are talking about.

    This will last me a long time. I melt just one square of this bitter chocolate with 1/4 cup coconut oil (coconut manna is especially good) to make "fat bomb" candies (sweetened with 1 T. pure maple syrup), poured into a silicon mold till set. I have lost 25 lbs. in the last 3 months by following the Primal diet; Eating coconut oil "fat Bombs", lots of uncured bacon, avocado, almond butter and lots of fatty grass-fed meats (and a little bit of green vegetables). No beans, rice, grains or fruit. I'm hardly ever hungry, have tons of energy....and love being able to wear my small sized jeans again. My BP is 120/70 BTW and am not on any meds (never have been).
