I finally got tired of stealing these (by the pocketful) from Mangiannos Italian Restaurant in downtown Denver (some of the best Italian food in Denver). Searching online, I found the Jelly Belly brand and decided to give them a try. Bad idea! They are VERY good. Actually better texture than the purloined ones I have been subsisting on. The danger is that these are very addictive.

If you can't afford to keep a regular supply, be warned. You don't want to end up on the streets trying to score nickle bags of Dutch mints from hirsute dealers in old disco suits.

These mints aren't the usual Dutch mints that are chocolate covered in a candy shell. Since this is a Jelly Belly candy, I should have guessed that the inside of the candy was a jelly base, but it was strange to bite into a Dutch mint and find a chocolate covered jelly bean. It tastes pretty good, but I don't like the consistency. I'll stick with the standard Dutch mint candy.

Exactly as promised. Picked them up at our place in the US and brought them back to Australia where we can't get them. Packaged well for shipment and the small packs are great for storing. Just a few mints are a great treat.

This is a favorite candy in our family. I used to buy these from local candy stores, but this item was dropped from their inventories. There are fewer online sources as well. My children love them, so I buy them when I can.

These Jelly Belly Chocolate Dutch Mints are very good. They have a minty outer shell, which comes in a variety of bright pastel colors. And the inside is a smooth and mildly sweet dark chocolate. The combination makes for a great after-dinner treat (especially with a cup of coffee). They are also surprisingly low in calories if eaten in moderation. According to the nutritional facts on the packaging, a 19-piece serving (half the 2.9 ounce package) is just 160 calories. The only reason I have chosen to give these a four-star rather than a five-star rating is because, while they're good, there are better chocolate Dutch mints on the market.

Just like eating raw peanuts once you start you can't stop. These are great mints after dinner or lunch dessert or anytime.

5 stars for the candy, price a bit steep.
