Customers find this Turkish taffy candy brings back childhood memories and appreciate its nostalgic value. However, the candy receives mixed feedback about its taste, with some finding it very tasty while others report flavors being off. Moreover, customers express concerns about the product's age, noting it's very old and stale, and its stickiness issues where it adheres to the paper and wrapper. Additionally, customers find the candy very hard to enjoy and difficult to remove from the wrapper. The value for money is also mixed, with some considering it a great deal while others feel it's too expensive.

Very disappointed with Banana color?

- Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2024My friend told me not to get these, "you'll pull out all your fillings," but that hasn't happened and it has been so much fun eating these sticky, tasty treats.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2021I have purchased these a few times and always enjoyed the same flavors I remembered from childhood. Something was very wrong with my most recent order however and I’ve thrown most of the candy away. (I did save a few samples in case Amazon wanted to see what was sent to me.) The taffy was mealy, the flavors were off and the candy stuck to the paper liner so badly that more than 50% of the candy was impossible to free up. I live in New England and ordered these in November so hot temperatures can not explain the poor quality of product I received.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2019I used to love these when I was a kid growing up in the 60s. They were the best candy to eat at a movie theater, they lasted a long time. I was thrilled when the candy was resurrected a few years ago after being discontinued decades ago. I wasn't disappointed, they were still delicious and have been buying them steadily since. My favorite has always been the banana flavor. Glad turkish taffy is being sold again.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2024I was so looking forward to reliving a childhood memory … but couldn’t be more disappointed!
The yellow banana was 1 of my old-time favorites … until I opened up the packaging. The package shows the historical ‘yellow’ color just like I remembered from the 60’s and 70’s … however, the product color wasn’t actually the yellow I remembered? The photo I’ve included accurately reveals an off-color???
At first thought, I’m thinking this must have been sitting on a shelf for a long time but I ate it anyway … very disappointing - tasted NOTHING like the taffy of old … rather, it tasted artificial with no-where near the same stretchy-ness that good taffy displays when it’s hot from the sun … the cardboard packaging stuck to the product so strongly that I figured it would certainly stretch when I pulled it or bit into it and pulled back - no such luck? I’m trying to avoid the tedious picking cardboard from the warm taffy, so the other 8 bars are currently in the freezer … I might as well try the Vanilla next by smashing it on the ground first before opening the package … but I’m not sure I’m ready to destroy all my childhood Taffy memories … I’m hoping this was a 1-off issue and not a reflection on what I remember from decades ago …

- Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2020I had never had these before, I stumbled upon them while looking for vanilla taffy. They taste pretty good, every flavor. But I'm really here to suggest how to eat these:
I tried cracking/breaking it in the package, as everyone suggested, it seemed fun. But it didn't work. So I froze them, then broke them, which was dumb, it breaks into a lot of pieces and this taffy is very, VERY sticky. Like, you do not want it on your clothes, carpet, etc. So here's the best, least messy way to eat them, I've found -- Freeze them. Take them out when you want one immediately, don't let them thaw. Put the taffy on a plate, open the wrapper very carefully, peel the cardboard back very carefully (over the plate) and eat it like a bar. Your hands are gonna get super sticky, but it's the easiest, least messy way. Eat them when you have access to a sink to wash your hands and face!
