Deliciously spicy! This is a "mix with milk" product, so don't expect rich and creamy if you mix with water. My "recipe" is to mix a scoop of this in with my instant cocoa (I alternate among several brands: Starbucks, Land o' Lakes, etc.). It adds a deep richness, as well as a spicy kick. The pepper is the flavor I notice most, but there are more subtle flavors in there as well. I absolutely recommend this for grown ups who enjoy a mug of hot cocoa.

This is the most flavorful of the Mexican-style hot chocolates that I've tried (others were "add hot water" style). It isn't just cinnamon/nutmeg/pie/whatever. There are some really nice flavors in here!

I bought this hot chocolate for two years from Whole Foods and then they stopped carrying it. I was so disappointed. Once I tasted this hot cocoa, no other would come close to filling the bill. I took a chance that Amazon would have it and I lucked out! The hot chocolate has a really rich flavor which you would expect from a chocolatier. The cayenne pepper is just enough to give it zip but it is not super spicy or hot. With the winter we have had, I am certainly glad Amazon carries this brand.

I read all of the reviews on a different product and people stated the old product was better, so I found this one that showed the old product ingredients, but was sent the newer version which has different ingredients.

It is still good...it is literally spicy hot chocolate. A bit spicier than expected, but that is OK. I just wanted to try the older version, but I don't think it exists anymore and amazon is still selling this product with misleading information.

Has just the right amount of spice wish it had a little bit more but I'd definitely buy this again. Apparently, there are two versions of this. My Whole Foods carried the old one, the brown canister pictured above. The discontinued it a few weeks ago so I was relegated to Amazon to find it. I specifically bought this one because I know there are two different recipes and I wanted the original. Nope. The other one came. It tastes differently, too. It has heat where the original one was just spiced. The old one is much closer to real Mexican hot chocolate, which I used to get 20 years ago in Portland, OR from some of the many coffee houses. Disappointed. Oh, and it is twice the price for half as much.
