Not sure what happened with this product but the cocoa tasted awful. It had an awful chemical taste to the beverage. My kids were really disappointed with product as was I. I checked the product's expiration date and it was May 2015. Upon inspection of each packet the product was hard inside the packet. Not sure if it is suppose to be in this condition or not. This is my first time purchasing the product. But the chemical taste of the product was so strong it was almost like bleach flavor and undrinkable. Very Very dissatisfied with product and will not purchase again. I used my coffeemaker to make regular coffee and tea not using these K cups and it the taste was great so it is not my coffeemaker, but something wrong with this product.

    My husband bought me a Keurig for my birthday and I was having so much fun with it, then I came across these swiss miss pods while browsing for more coffee and tea for myself. I thought this would be a great surprise for my husband, who does not drink coffee much and hates tea altogether. I bought these and they came fairly quickly (3-4 days time!). My husband was very surprised and happy to have one of his favorites. My kids loved this too! I love having the pods, it's very quick and the kids love watching the machine work it's magic. lol The flavor is just as I remembered.

    I am normally happy with Swiss Miss hot chocolate when it comes in the normal packets. However, the Keurig seems to water down the hot chocolate or they do not put enough mix in the cup. I would suggest brewing it on the smaller cup setting to get stronger hot chocolate.

    This is a good and fast hot chocolate product offering that my whole family enjoys, and actually prefer it over the 4-5 different Keurig-enabled hot chocolates I’ve purchased here on Amazon. While I don't drink that much hot chocolate, my family does and they like the quick and easy way they can make a cup vs. warming up water in the microwave, stirring, etc. I think it tastes a little better than the Butternut and Nestle brands - throw in a few marshmellows and you are set!

    Here are the things to look out for when brewing hot chocolate with your Keurig that works for us:

    1. Make sure you shake the cocoa container real well prior to putting the pod in the Keurig: the powder / mix tends to clump, and you don't want that to be the case when you brew a cup or else it will taste a little watery, and you run the risk of clumping while brewing which will make the water overflow out the top of your Keurig and make abig ‘ole mess.

    2. The hot chocolate tends to be thicker and can clog up the filtration / water lines (or whatever they call it). After you make a cup of hot chocolate, immediately run a medium cycle of just hot water. You'll see what I mean with the cloudiness of the water coming out at this cycle as it cleans out the water line. Make sure you put a cup under it when you do it or you'll have a mess!

    3. If you want a "richer" hot chocolate experience, use the small or medium setting. It all depends upon your viewpoint: my son and I like the small setting, and my wife and daughter like the medium setting. Don't forget the marshmellows!

    The cocoa was a little weak. I could not find hot cocoa k-cups anywhere in the stores. Then I found it on Amazon. It isn't the strongest cocoa. I think it is easier to take the cheaper instant packets, put them in your cup, and use just the plain water from the Keurig. I know it kind of defeats the purpose but my husband uses the Keurig for his coffee and I don't drink coffee. It is nice in the winter to have cocoa in less and 60 seconds.

    I find this hot chocolate has a weird, chemical after taste. I usually don't notice these things, I grew up in the Midwest so I joke I have a high tolerance for funny tasting food. But the chemical after taste was so strong I thougt it was my machine. I ran several cycles to clean out the machine but the chemical taste was still present. I made an apple cider k-cup to verify it wasn't the machine, and the cider tasted fine.
